Down to the grand finals

26 Mar, 2009 09:21 AM
DRAMA Queens and Dirtbags have progressed directly to the women’s and men’s A grade grand finals next Wednesday with emphatic wins over Licorice All Sorts and Thirsty Merks respectively in the major semi-finals and it is hard to see both these teams losing the grand finals.

The challengers will have to play some very good football to topple these teams as they are proving to be unstoppable.

Hell Raisers in men’s B grade progressed directly to the grand final after a close contest with Judd’s GGs while EPS Eddo’s Plumbing Service in women’s B grade also went through after an upset win over Fruit Tingles.

MPF Engineering in women’s C grade also booked a grand final berth after a tight struggle with Illabo Hotel that went to extra time.

In men’s A grade minor semi-final That’s Gold accounted easily for Putto’s Sparkies and it will now meet Thirsty Merks in the preliminary final to decide who will challenge Dirtbags.

The way That’s Gold is playing, don’t be surprised if it’s a Dirtbags-That’s Gold grand final.

Topssip accounted for an under-manned Junee Junction in the women’s A minor semi final and will now meet Licorice All Sorts in the preliminary final in what should prove to be a very interesting match-up, Topssip has found form at the right end of the season and may just have the goods to get over All Sorts, which has found the going tough without Nell Keough.

Pac-Nat had an easy night taking their minor semi-final on forfeit. It now meets Judd’s GGs in the preliminary final.

Kemp’s Foxy Loxys came away with a win over WOFTAM in another very tight match that could have gone either way in womens B grade minor semi-final and will now meet Fruit Tingles in the preliminary final.

Salmat had to work hard to overcome a feisty Harvey Norman in women’s C grade minor semi-final.

After starting out with only three players, Harvey Norman was down a couple of goals quickly but

still put up a good fight and finally scored a goal – its first this season.

Salmat will meet Illabo Hotel in the preliminary final and this should be a good match-up.
