United outplays Junee

22 Jul, 2010 12:14 PM
JUNEE’S Pascoe Cup side lost to a determined Wagga United at Gissing Oval on Sunday.

While the scoreline was 6-1 the game was very fast and open, and Junee worked hard and producing some excellent football.

At the break Wagga Unted was ahead 2-0 after tight first half, with Junee providing plenty of resistance and also moving forward to put pressure on the United defence on numerous occasions, but without luck.

Quick work by United caught the Junee defence napping and resulted in two converted strikes.

The second half was again a struggle, with the Jaguars allowing four more goals through with some simple errors in defence, while a lot of excellent passing and control was exhibited.

Errors crept in at crucial moments to deliver the opposition easy chances at goal, which it took.

Jared Baldry scored Junee’s lone goal towards the end of the match after some good lead-up work.

Injuries forced a couple of substitutions and with the run-in towards the business end of the season looming, Junee will be working hard to be a thorn in the side of the other teams.
