JUNEE under 12s faced off against Lake Albert Sharks this week in a game that was switched on and entertaining to watch.
Right from the start Junee had the initiative to work the ball forward, making numerous breaks up the line and stringing together triangles of passes.
Unfortunately, they were unable to finish any breaks with a strong kick, resulting in the ’keeper getting the last say most of the time.
A fast sprint on the ball saw Junee concede a goal, with the backline unable to catch the half-a-field run.
However, the team wasn’t going to have the same lapse in structure get it again.
It moved as one, striking forward, moving back, making sure to cover all areas and lock down any ball that Sharks looked like they could do damage with.
The midfield worked hard to bridge that gap between front and backlines in the second half.
However, despite some much better shooting, the opposition ’keeper was just too crafty with the ball,
as was ’keeper Kael Ross, the couple of times a ball got through our defence.
The same speedy attacker from before saw another goal go against the Jaguars.
But Junee didn’t let it get to it, having several more attempts to equal the score before fulltime.
Points this week went to Cameron Hart and Josh Landrigan (one point), Tegan Judd and Chloe Middleton (two points) and Molly Turton (three points).
