THE senior girls met Henwood Park Kites at Junee on Saturday and came away with a solid 8-1 result to remain at the top of the ladder.
Junee started the game strongly and went straight into attack mode – never lifting the pedal from the metal as they powered seven goals past the Kites’ goalkeeper in an awesome first half display.
Jes Smith put four goals away, Emma Turner scored off a thunderbolt from a free kick and Kayla Wright scored three for the day, two in the first half.
Junee dominated much of the play and was able to defuse any attack the Kites mounted, only conceding a goal in the second half.
But at that stage, Junee was ahead 8-0 and in no danger of losing the game.
Chelsea McGregor, Emma Turner, Keeley Hancock, Cara Hancock and Kayla Wright had the defensive duties and all proved hard to get past and were willing in their strong play.
This coupled with some good attacking play from Jes Smith, Ashley Fitzgerald, Mariah Foley and Kayla Wright sealed the win.
Best for Junee in an all-team performance were Jes Smith, Emma Turner, Kayla Wright and Mariah Foley.
