THE Stallions and the Red Cow Hotel travelled to Gundagai on the weekend to play in the Twenty20 grand final.
In extremely hot conditions, the Red Cow won the toss and elected to bat.
It wasted no time in getting runs with Trent Charlton batting aggressively at the top of the order to make 77.
Mick Butler supported him well, keeping the run rate going fast at both ends.
Daniel Pratt was the pick of the Stallions bowlers, taking two wickets.
The Red Cow made a respectable score of 6-176 off its 20 overs.
The Stallions’ innings started in the worst possible way, with Daniel Pratt losing his wicket on the first ball of the innings.
Tom Crowder (73) and Darren O’Rafferty (47) put on an 80-run partnership, making use of a lightning fast outfield.
After Crowder and O’Rafferty were dismissed, Brett Dobson (27 not out) and Murray Garlick (19 not out) got the Stallions
home with only three balls to spare.
Trent Charlton was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2-32 off his five overs.
Stallions are 09/10 Twenty20 champions.
This weekend the Stallions and the Red Cow will meet again in a 40-over contest to be played at Burns Park, which is set to be another exciting match.
