04 Feb, 2010 10:05 AM
JUNIOR cricket resumed last Saturday after the summer holidays with McGraths and Gilchrist doing battle on Loftus 1.

Gilchrist battled first and some of the kids showed they were a bit rusty after the break to be all out for 55 runs.

Adam Bradley, the only batter to show resistance, was not out on 20, although B Whitteker played doggedly and ended up on nine not out.

Most of the McGraths bowlers shared the wickets, with BJ Smith taking 1-2, B Cook 1-3 and J Hamilton 1-4.

McGraths then took to the crease making 74 in reply, with the top scorers being E Sainsbury 13 runs and K Deacon 12.

Bowlers to stand out for Gilchrist were K Ross (2-5) and Tamsyn Scott (1-7).

The other game on Loftus 2 was between Haydens and Clarkes.

Clarkes batted first and scored 70.

C Judd was Clarkes’ best with the bat, scoring 12.

T Morriss was Haydens’ best bowler along with L Steven.
