JUNIOR cricket resumed last Saturday after the summer holidays with McGraths and Gilchrist doing battle on Loftus 1.
Gilchrist battled first and some of the kids showed they were a bit rusty after the break to be all out for 55 runs.
Adam Bradley, the only batter to show resistance, was not out on 20, although B Whitteker played doggedly and ended up on nine not out.
Most of the McGraths bowlers shared the wickets, with BJ Smith taking 1-2, B Cook 1-3 and J Hamilton 1-4.
McGraths then took to the crease making 74 in reply, with the top scorers being E Sainsbury 13 runs and K Deacon 12.
Bowlers to stand out for Gilchrist were K Ross (2-5) and Tamsyn Scott (1-7).
The other game on Loftus 2 was between Haydens and Clarkes.
Clarkes batted first and scored 70.
C Judd was Clarkes’ best with the bat, scoring 12.
T Morriss was Haydens’ best bowler along with L Steven.
Haydens then occupied the crease and sneaked home by seven runs, being all out for 77.
C Fahey was the star with the bat, retiring on 23.
T Sutherland also scored 10.
Clarkes best bowlers were B Turner (2-3) and A Hart (1-1).
