ON LOFTUS two last Saturday, Ponting and McGrath battled in a one-sided match with McGrath winning 65 to 30.
McGrath’s batted first and the main runners were W McGrath with 15, C Buck with 10 and H Hume, 10.
J Butler was the pick of the bowlers for Ponting, taking two wickets for 13 runs.
Pontings’ batsmen found it hard to get going with the highest scorer, C Alkemade, notching nine runs and bowlers E Sainsbury and C Henderson went two for four and two for five respectively.
On Loftus One, Johnsons and Husseys competed with a relatively easy victory going to Johnsons, 74 to 46.
Wayward bowling was again Husseys downfall and with Johnson taking to the crease first, L Moon was able to scored 14 off the bat and T Scott scored 13.
Z Shepherd picked up one for zero from a couple of overs and L Hart managed one for three.
Husseys turn to bat saw J Hamilton and L Moon scoring seven a-piece, becoming the highest scorers for Hussey.
Best bowlers for Johnson were C Sainsbury with three for two, T Scott two for three and A Shepherd two for seven.
Despite the wet weather on Sunday, Coolamon and Ganmain still travelled over for some fun games against Junee.
Both matches went off without a hitch before the rain came down and officials thank parents and grandparents who helped out on the day and the teams for travelling across to Loftus Oval for the day.
On January 15 next year, a charity day will be held in the form of a six-a-side knockout in aid of the Cancer Council’s a Call to Arms.
Twelve teams will be accepted so get in early, with the emphasis on a fun day for the family.
