A BIG crowd turned out to the annual Australia Day fun run organised by Junee Junction Recreation and Aquatic Centre (JJRAC) and the GEO Group.
More than 135 people braved the early wake-up call to be at the start line on Park Lane at 7.30am to complete a 4.5-kilometre run across town.
JJRAC acting centre manager Josh Whitty estimated there were extra entrants in the run for this year, with the event open to everyone – including cyclists and scooter riders.
Teenager Taran Scott blitzed the field, running home in a staggering 14 minutes and 15 seconds and had more than a minute to spare to his nearest competitor.
Winners of three random $100 prizes donated by the GEO Group were Abbie Foley, Rhys Clemson and Justine McDevitt.
