THE futures of three Junee High School students have been given a major boost by the GEO Group.
Ebony Becquet, Billie-Rose Deacon and Jade Belling all received a $2500 Youth In Focus scholarhship which will help them pursue their dreams – either academic, creative or sporting.
“The people of Junee should be very impressed with the calibre of students coming out of Junee High School,” said GEO Group general manager Andy Walker.
Fourteen students applied for the scholarships and Mr Walker said the selection team had its work cut out for it in trying to select thereceipents.
Mr Walker said anyone who had missed out should re-apply, or if they were thinking about entering to put together an application for next year.
Starting at Charles Sturt University this year, Jade Belling will use her scholarship to help get her through a medical radiation science degree as she trains for a career as a radiographer.
Talented athlete Billie-Rose Deacon will head to Canada for a track and field event after being seen competing in Sydney.
She aiming to compete against some of the best young atheletes in the world.
Ebony Becquet can often be found teaching dance to young students and her commitment to the art is significant.
Ebony often spends much of her free-time teaching or rehersing.
