Stage set for unique concert

04 Mar, 2010 10:22 AM
THE Junee Roundhouse is set to become a site full of glorious sounds this Saturday as the annual Wind in the Roundhouse concert winds up.

Organised by the Junee Shire Arts Council, the concert will he held in the Roundhouse on a flat top rail wagon hitched to a locomotive on a turntable.

The moveable platform will become the focus for the night as performers the Wagga Pipe Band, the Junee North Public recorder ensemble and Pasticcio, take to the wagon leaving the Roundhouse Museum’s locomotive display as a backdrop.

With the acoustics of the circular building providing excellent sound for concert goers, organisers have promised a treat for the ears as lead act Pasticcio perform a collection of items from opera classics to Elton John songs.

Visitors to Junee and locals are also being encouraged to head along to the Roundhouse Museum during the day to learn about the impressive setting for the concert.

The concert will start at 7.30pm sharp with the audience asked to be seated by no later than 7.15pm.

In keeping with the ‘concert with a difference’ the audience is asked to bring their own chairs.

There will be a limited number of chairs available for hire for a small fee.

Because it is an industrial site, appropriate footwear should be worn. Disabled access is available.

Tickets can be purchased at the door for adults $20 and concession (pensioner or school-age child) $15.
