McCormack wins ballot to be Nationals candidate

27 May, 2010 10:48 AM
WAGGA’S Michael McCormack is Kay Hull’s successor following the Nationals’ pre-selection process.

After four hours, the electoral officers announced it was an “extremely close” ballot, in which Mr McCormack toppled fellow preselection candidates Wes Fang, John Minogue, William Maslin and Mark Hoskinson.

A successful businessman, Mr McCormack was editor of The Daily Advertiser for 10 years, but now works in a media partnership.

Mrs Hull, who will retire from politics at the next election, said she would work closely with Mr McCormack until polling day.
