Man lands longer jail sentence

04 Mar, 2010 11:27 AM
JUNEE jail inmate Buckley Reeves will have to serve at least another three months in prison after being sentenced in Wagga Local Court for intimidating a law officer.

Reeves is alleged to have told a person that

after he got out of prison he was going to find a certain prison officer, smash him and jump on his head.

He pleaded not guilty to the offence but was convicted after a hearing in February.

The court heard then that Reeves felt that the officer he was speaking about was responsible for him being in prison longer than he needed to be.

He said he was just letting off steam.

Buckley was due for release on March 18, but will stay behind the bars until at least June 18 after he was given another seven months in jail, with a non-parole period of three months.
