THERE is a new face leading the Junee Multi-Purpose Service for the next nine months.
Acting nurse unit manager Karen Solah has taken up the top position until October while Junee’s manager Colleen Power is on secondment with a project run by Greater Southern Area Health Service (GSAHS).
Ms Solah is an experienced manager who was up until recently the nurse unit manager for Community Health at Young Health Service, said GSAHS central sector general manager Jill Ludford.
Working as a registered nurse since 1991 in a range of private and public health services, her nursing experience includes a range of acute medical/surgical care and community health.
Having previously relieved as the nurse manager of the services since 2006, her range of nursing experience will help see ongoing staff development and education.
Currently the chair of the Central Sector Regional Clinical Council, Ms Solah is responsible for watching over the roll out of Caring Together Action Plan initiatives and said she has a strong interest in patient safety.
“I look forward to the challenges of my new role over the next few months ... meeting and working with staff and the community of Junee.
“It has been such as lovely welcoming place.”
Ms Power has been seconded to a short-term role of change-manager for the implementation of the new GSAHS Electronic Medical Records system which will be rolled out across the area in the coming months.
