22 Jul, 2010 11:53 AM
A FREIGHT train was derailed at Junee station after it was believed the tracks lost shape.

Just before midnight on Friday, the train was leaving Junee station, but just one kilometre later, its last five wagons were derailed.

The driver quickly stopped the train after realising something was not right with the locamotive.

Police were called to the scene to breath test the driver, which returned a negative reading.

No one was injured in the incident, however, the tracks were badly damaged. A crane had to be brought in to get the train back on to the track.
