End of an era for cafe

11 Mar, 2010 10:07 AM
AFTER almost 11 years serving the people of Junee, this Friday will be the final time residents will find the face of Lyandra Logan behind the counter of the Broadway Cafe.

After running the business day-in, day-out for more than a decade, Mrs Logan and her partner Michael, have sold up and are ready for a change.

Working seven days a week since her children were just toddlers, Mrs Logan said now with her family grown up, she was ready to take the step into a different career path.

“I am happy to work, but I am ready for a change.”

Selling the business by word-of-mouth to a couple from Temora, she said she had no firm plans yet, only to take some time to rest her feet before starting a new venture.

While she was happy to be making the change, she said there was one thing she would miss most about working behind the cafe counter.

“I will miss my customers.

“I would like to thank the customers who have supported the business through the years.”

The cafe will be closed for the coming weeks as the new owners undertake renovations to the building.

Mrs Logan said most of the cafe items would remain the same, however, the new owners have some fresh ideas to offer customers something different.
