Emergency unit armed with new life-saving gear

16 Feb, 2012 05:00 AM
NEW GEAR: Firefighter Simon Bond tries the new hydraulic jaws of life out during training at the Junee Fire Station.

The Junee Fire and Rescue Unit received several new tools to deal with road accidents in the Junee district, further adding to its capability.

Previously the unit used a hand- operated set of the jaws and a new hydraulic upgrade will make it easier to help others in danger. Junee firefighters received hands-on training in using the new equipment this week.
