STUDENTS at Junee High School joined their compatriots across NSW for the start of the High School Certificate exams this week.
More than 70,000 students across the state will sit for exams with 117 different exams prepared for students.
Junee students sat for the first of two English exams on Tuesday with 14 students filing into the William Nowland Hall in Junee.
English is the only compulsory subject for HSC students, and is covered in two exams over four hours encompassing subjects such as creative writing and relating a sense of belonging in an essay.
Students said they worked hard and were prepared for the questions that were asked in the exam paper but were relieved that the first part of English. They said they were looking forward to putting the rest of the exams behind them.
Prospects for Junee’s graduating class of 2011 after
completing exams includes university, TAFE, employment locally and out of town.
Four weeks of HSC exams will conclude on November 11, with Hospitality and Design and Technology students being tested on the last day.
Results will be released and can be accessed using the internet or SMS on December 14.
