Council calls for feedback

11 Mar, 2010 09:58 AM
JUNEE Shire Council is looking for community feedback about flooding events to gain information for the shire’s Floodplain Management Program.

Following the completion of the Lower Butlers Gully Floods Study last year, council is about to commence the floodplain program’s next stage.

The objective of the study is to assess options in reducing the impact of floods to buildings and prepare a set of guidelines for any future developments.

To complete the study, council are asking the community to provide feedback about past flood events and their preference of council’s work to reduced flood risk.

Within the coming weeks a newsletter and questionnaire will be sent to selected residents asking for feedback.

Council is offering those who do not receive a letter, but would like to have their say, to share their thoughts by downloading the questionnaire at www.junee.nsw.gov.au.
