Cenotaph to get a makeover

18 Mar, 2010 12:53 PM
THE Broadway Cenotaph could soon be receiving a facelift after Junee shire councillors moved a motion to look into refurbishing the memorial.

Council has looked into fixing the cenotaph due to its roof which is currently in bad condition and repainting, asking for a striking new look to the current art-deco scheme.

With the support of the Returned Services League, council has been provided with a proposed new look which includes a copper roof, downpipes and a new colour scheme of light green, dark green and cream which is sure to look striking .

Council’s general manager Greg Campbell is looking into having the work priced in order to apply for grants from the Commonwealth Saluting Their Service Commemoration scheme and the Commonwealth War Memorial Fund.
