A report on tenders for the Broadway Athenium are expected to be listed for discussion at Junee Shire Council’s March meeting next Tuesday.
Tenders for the scope of work to be carried out at the heritage-listed theatre have closed and are now being evaluated by the projects architect, according to Junee Shire Council manager for development and community services Anthony Newland.
“We received five tenders, which included a local, Gundagai, Wagga group and two metro in the mix.”
With no word yet on if the work will go ahead, Mr Newland said it will depend on the report sent to council as such a wide scope was covered by the tenders.
At the end of the day, the project will depend on the comparison of the tender prices with council’s allocated budget, but also council’s contingency plan to cover extra works which may arise. The tenders have been publicly listed at the Junee Shire Council offices.
