AFTER being closed for almost two months Junee charity store Annie’s Place is set to reopen its doors next week.
Revamped and renovated to bring the building up to par with the demands of today, the building has undergone a series of minor improvements.
A new concrete floor, disabled amenities, kitchenette, lighting, extra hanging space and carpet has been put into place.
Now the store is ready to reopen to the public on Monday, more than one month after it was due to be completed.
Annie’s Place co-ordinator Jenny Griffin said the work needed to be completed following a problem with white ants.
Taking the opportunity to not only fix the white ant issue, the committee took the chance to make other improvements to the site. Founded by the late Iris Gamble as an initiative of St Luke’s Anglican Church, Annie’s has been an avid supporter of the Junee community since the mid-1990s providing welfare, youth work and funding to the sisters in Papua New Guinea who support women and children in an area of high rates of AIDS.
Run with the help of 40 volunteers, Monday will see a grand opening display with residents welcome to attend.
