Accused to enter plea in Sydney

THE man accused of stabbing Junee man Mitchell Robert Ferrario, has been arraigned to the NSW Supreme Court.

Alan Lawson-Brown appeared in Wagga Local Court yesterday,

via audio-video link from the maximum security Parklea Correctional Centre.

He was told his case would be heard in Sydney at 10am on Friday, October

2 when he will be required to enter a plea.

The 72-year-old has been in custody since April 9 when he was arrested after allegedly becoming involved

in a verbal altercation with Mr Ferrario.

Police allege Lawson-Brown stabbed Mr Ferrario in the chest following the altercation sometime between 10.10pm and 10.20pm.

Police said Mr Ferrario was was walking home from a nearby party

and become involved in the altercation, which ultimately led to his

death.

Up until yesterday, the case had been adjourned a number of times due to a large volume of forensic material still outstanding, including some parts of the post-mortem report.

Lawson-Brown first appeared before Wagga Local Court the day after his arrest via audio-video link from the Junee Correctional Centre.

He has since appeared four times over the last four months.
